Nuka and Black Temmoku Bowl

This unique bowl is glazed with a traditional Japanese nuka glaze mixed from wood ash and burnt rice hulls to give the impression of clouds passing over a stormy night sky. The nuka glaze, in this case, is made with unwashed black wattle ash from Taungurung country and is laid under a traditional Japanese temmoku finish.

Fragile. Handle with care.
All ceramics should, in theory, be able to handle realtively high heat and survive washing in a dishwasher or short bursts in a microwave if you are reheating coffee or a meal. All functional ware is water tight.
Note that no metals should be place in a microwave. Do not place anything in a microwave that has had lustre work or metal oxides applied.
Be careful of thermal shock. Getting to high heats rapidly can cause breakage, whether in hot water, or an oven. Take care to heat slowly if need be.
Ceramics are fragile. Bumping them in a sink or against a coutertop, dropping them on hard surfaces, can cause breakage. Handling items with appropriate care is the responsibility of the owner.
